We gave you an exclusive look at Android Lollipop running on the Galaxy Grand Prime a long time ago, and Samsung has finally gotten around to pushing out the official update to the device. The Grand Prime is currently receiving Android 5.0.2 in Russia, with build number G530HXCU1BOH3 accompanying the update. Yes, the update is sadly not Android 5.1.1, and we’re guessing the latest version of Lollipop has very little chance of ever making it to the Grand Prime even with future updates.
The update should include improved performance, a slightly overhauled user interface with Lollipop-inspired colors, heads-up notifications, and better battery life. You can expect the over-the-air update to show up on your device if you’re in Russia at any moment; the firmware is available for download from our database if you don’t want to wait and wish to update manually.
