Well, it looks like someone might just have spoiled the party for Samsung by leaking pictures of a Galaxy Note 5 in the flesh. Published by Droid-Life, the images seem to come from someone who got to spend hands-on time with the phablet, and show a device that looks exactly the same as the Note 5 we purportedly saw in a leaked render earlier this month.
The first thing you will notice is the slight curve on the back, which should help with ergonomics while making the handset look good from the rear at the same time. The front is, for all intents and purposes, an enlarged Galaxy S6 with slightly lesser curves on the edges. Also notable is what looks like the new Air Command menu, with the option of custom shortcuts in addition to usual S Pen features. The bottom of the device has the same setup as the Galaxy S6, but with a push-to-eject S Pen slot placed next to the speaker.
The phone in the pictures doesn’t seem to include an IR blaster, and it would be sad to see Samsung removing the feature considering it can come in quite handy sometimes. Of course, there’s no telling if what we’re looking at is actually the Note 5, or at least a final retail version of the phablet. All will be revealed in a couple of days at Samsung’s Unpacked event next week, where the company will also unveil the Galaxy S6 edge+.
