It is not uncommon for Samsung to release dual SIM variants of its smartphones for certain markets. In the West dual SIM smartphones aren’t popular that much but in emerging markets around the world they tend to do well. Which is why it isn’t surprising to hear that the dual SIM Galaxy S6 will be released for the Philippines. According to a report Samsung Philippines had specifically requested for this variant as the international version of the Galaxy S6 comes with a single SIM slot.
Even though both SIM slots of the Galaxy S6 will support nano SIM cards only one will be compatible with 4G LTE networks. As far as the Philippines variant of the Galaxy S6 edge is concerned it will only have a single SIM slot. Philippines is said to be among the launch markets that get the new devices on April 10th. Initially only the 32GB and 64GB models of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge will be released in the country, before the 128GB models arrive at some point in the future.
